Looking chic at Comic Con is hard. Promoting a gory, blood-drenched Carrie remake while still looking cute is hard. But not if you're Chloë Moretz, who pulls it all off and kills two birds with one stone in a charming ensemble that's just the right mix of quirky and elegant.
Let's do a little deconstruction. First, the sandals. A bold choice for October in NYC, but they're so cool that we hardly care. The colors echo the black and white on top, while the delicate form offsets the bold, stiff shape of her skirt. The skirt is an on-trend brocade in a sweet, age-appropriate baby blue — but not too sweet, as demonstrated by the edgy leather jacket. And once again we come back to a fashionable modesty with her prim but pretty stark-white, slightly sheer button-up. No jewelry, no pedicure, no frills. Not so trendy that it will alienate the Comic Con crowd, but cool enough to please her many admirers in the fashion biz. A perfect outfit if we've ever seen one. Way to go, Chlo!
