Since her big break a few years back, Adele has transcended cultural prejudices and become a role model for girls of all sizes. She has consistently refused to be typecast as the token "curvy" girl. Instead, the songstress is making the focus all about her music and that instant-wow voice. So, it's no surprise that Burberry would want to sign her for a plus-size line.
Like Adele, Burberry is an icon representative of all things British — but unlike Adele, it's not exactly known for being inclusive of all body types. This is a major step for Burberry and any high-end brand, and while it may be optimistic, we like to think it's indicative of more open-mindedness in the industry.
Of course, this is still just a rumor, and even if it is true, Adele would really just be on the books as a "brand ambassador" — a term that can mean everything and nothing. But if she and Christopher Bailey are really making this happen, put us on the waiting list stat. (The Cut)
