Karl Names His New Bag After Choupette, His Kitty

choupettebag_2
There's nothing like a celebrity muse to turn a nondescript leather sack into an It bag worth hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars. There's the beautiful Birkin, the classic Kelly – even BryanBoy has one courtesy of Marc Jacobs. But the newest installment in the history of namesake bags offers a distinctly squee!! take on the trend.
That's right, we're talking about the one and only Choupette: "famous beauty" and partner in crime to Karl Lagerfeld. She's already got two maids and a 600-page record of her daily activities, so it should come as no surprise that she's getting a designer handbag. New York Times fashion critic, Cathy Horyn, reported live from Chanel's Paris headquarters yesterday, tweeting that the Choupette bag is "knitted" and "soft." Wait, are we sure she wasn't just petting the actual cat? (Telegraph UK)
