While browsing The Shoe Box on Madison Avenue yesterday, we couldn't help but be drawn to a strong scent of lavender wafting from the far corner. Lo and behold, the summery scent belonged not to an actual plant but a pair of ballet flats from French designer Paul Mayer, who ingeniously infused the shoe's rubber bottoms with lavender scent. Besides delivering a potent hit of the South of France while you're pounding Gotham's sweaty sidewalks, the classic Parisian ballet flats are parfait to rest your arches while still giving off chic, Constance Billard-type vibes.
