The clouds may be fit to burst, but we've just spotted a ray of sunshine in the form of swimwear label We Are Handsome's spring '11 collection. With their to-die-for climate, it's no wonder that Aussies are masters when it comes to togs, and We Are Handsome proves that Down Under's where it's at with their off-the-wall bikinis and one-pieces. Having graced the famous bods of Rihanna and Diane Kruger, We Are Handsome's signature irreverent prints are taking the world by storm. Their newest collection, entitled "Aviary", features custom feather prints inspired by mythical birds, in cuts to suit every body type. From bandeau bikinis to cap-sleeved one pieces, the range is directional yet sexy, with keyhole detailing that ups the hot factor. Don't take our word for it, check out this super-exclusive behind the scenes video of We Are Handsome's SS11 shoot all the way from Sydney. Full of models frolicking poolside in dappled sunlight, it's got us pining for summer like never before. The video, and an interview, is after the break!
We spoke to designer Jeremy Somers, one half of We Are Handsome, to get the scoop on the bikini vs. one-piece debate and which celeb body he'd love to see his suits on:
R29: "Do you think one-pieces are going to more popular than two-pieces anytime soon?"
Jeremy Somers: "They already are!! Ask any fashion savvy girl and they have definitely got one in their wardrobe. They're the most versatile piece of clothing you could have."
R29: "What photographer/artist would you love to do a collab with?"
JS: "Photographers such as Ryan Mcginley and Walderma and Max would be fantastic to collaborate with. We're really interested in collaborating with musicians & style icons too, as this allows us to continue the flow of our creativity and bring other people's inspiration to life."
R29: "Celebs have been flocking to your suits. Who would you want to next wear it?"
JS: "There's a long list of favourites: Drew Barrymore, Alexa Chung, Blake Lively, Alessandra Ambrosio just to name a few."
We Are Handsome's Spring/Summer range is set to drop in March, so there's plenty of time to hit the gym and get ready to stand out on the sand this summer.
