UPDATE: This post was originally published on January 19.
The night before this crazy party happened, Jaime & Melinda’s wedding went down at the same gorgeous downtown Los Angeles venue, Vibiana. They wanted their wedding to reflect their unique style. A bit eclectic, whimsical yet modern, and elegant. That said, they sought the creative talents of the Bash, Please ladies, while taking cues from their favorite director, Wes Anderson, in terms of color palette and art direction. This was far beyond any “movie-themed” wedding for sure. The details were gorgeous (just look at that venue!), and there were just the right amount of places to pay homage to his past films that would make Wes Anderson fans very proud. Melinda walked down the aisle to a beautiful string quartet rendition of “Cosmic Love” by Florence & the Machine. And their first dance was to “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want” by The Smiths.

"We held both ceremony and reception at Vibiana (one of the draws was that we could do both there). It was actually the very first venue we looked at, and we fell in love with the grandeur and elegance of the building, which was built back in the late 1800s. It’s a rare find in a city that was mostly constructed in the mid-1900s or later. It gave us the perfect setting for our whimsical style, juxtaposed against a grand background."
