You recently moved to a farm just outside of the San Francisco. How does country life compare to city life?
"I wouldn't necessarily say life is much different. It's just the
balance that I've found to be essential to my sanity. I grew up in
the woods and lived in cities for undergrad and graduate schools and stayed there to work. When I'm in the city, I tend to have a 'go-go' mentality. At my home in the country, I'm able to just be. My boyfriend and I spend our days in the garden, elbow deep in soil and manure,
writing by the pond, dancing to old records, and taking time to allow inspiration to come."
